Product Introduction

Zinc shot is a new type of metal abrasive made from high-purity refined zinc and zinc alloy zinc as raw materials, with the addition of appropriate alloying elements (such as aluminum and copper). It is processed through precision processes including smelting, wire drawing, shot cutting, grinding, and sieving. Unlike traditional cast steel shot or iron shot, zinc shot is softer, more ductile, and less prone to sparking, making it an ideal choice for precision surface treatment.

Our zinc shot features high-purity zinc (soft state) (≥99.95%) and zinc alloy (hard state) (≥99.85%) zinc content, uniform particle size, good roundness, and low loss. It provides a uniform and consistent finish without damaging the workpiece substrate.

II. Main Application Areas

• Die Casting Industry (Deburring & Flash Removal): Particularly suitable for deburring, removing flash, and surface sand removal of die castings made of zinc alloys, aluminum alloys, and copper alloys, without damaging the substrate and revealing the original smooth surface.

• Automotive and Aerospace Parts: Used for shot peening and surface finishing of engine parts, turbine blades, and aluminum alloy wheels.

• Electroplating and Coating Pre-treatment: Polishing electroplated parts (such as zinc plating) or roughening coated surfaces to increase coating adhesion.

• 3C Electronics and Precision Hardware: Used for surface polishing and stress relief of laptop casings, mobile phone frames, precision springs, and fasteners.

• Non-ferrous Metal Castings: Replaces aluminum shot for sand removal, improving efficiency and offering higher dust safety.

IV. Key Advantages

1. High Material Purity, No Pollution (Not Prone to Rust)

Pure zinc shot typically contains over 99.95% zinc, while zinc alloy shot typically contains over 99.85% zinc and contains no excessive iron, sulfur, or other impurities.

Not Prone to Rust: Compared to iron shot and ordinary steel shot, zinc shot has strong oxidation resistance and is less prone to rusting during storage and use, avoiding secondary pollution after workpiece surface treatment.

2. Low Dust, Safe and Environmentally Friendly

The chemical properties of zinc result in a low ignition point for the dust generated during high-speed impacts, and it is less likely to produce sparks. This makes it particularly suitable for explosion-proof applications and surface treatment of non-ferrous metals (such as aluminum and copper).

Dust settles quickly, effectively improving the working environment.

3. No damage to workpieces, high precision (soft yet tough)

Moderate hardness (typically HV 35-100) effectively removes burrs, oxide scale, and tiny flash from workpiece surfaces while creating compressive stress without causing dimensional damage to precision parts. It can even whiten and brighten the surface.

4. Excellent cleaning effect (corrosion prevention and whitening)

When zinc shot impacts the workpiece surface, it slightly transfers a trace amount of zinc, providing cathodic protection (improved rust prevention) and imparting a uniform matte or bright silver luster to the workpiece, enhancing product quality.

5. Long lifespan, low overall cost

The alloying design significantly improves the fatigue resistance of the zinc shot, achieving an Irwin life of over 6000 cycles. The particles are less prone to breakage and pulverization, reducing abrasive consumption and the burden on the dust collection system, resulting in lower overall operating costs.

V. Packaging and Storage

• Packaging Specifications: 25kg/bag (inner moisture-proof bag + outer woven bag), or ton bags as per customer requirements.

• Storage Recommendations: Store in a dry, well-ventilated indoor warehouse. Avoid contact with acids, alkalis, and salts to prevent moisture absorption and clumping.
