Product Details
Product Introduction
Cast steel grit, also known as steel shot abrasive or shot blasting abrasive, is an upgraded replacement for cast iron grit and iron shot. Qingdao Bairuitong Metal Abrasive Co., Ltd. produces high-quality cast steel grit that strictly adheres to the national standard GB/T 18838.3-2008 "High Carbon Cast Steel Shot and Sand" and the American SAE standard. The products also meet the ISO11124-3 international standard.
Cast steel grit is produced using scrap steel quenching and crushing methods or casting processes. It has an angular, polyhedral shape, and its microstructure is tempered martensite or sorbite. Its sharp edges give it high-speed cutting and etching capabilities, resulting in high cleaning efficiency, making it particularly suitable for removing oxide scale from workpiece surfaces.

Hardness Grades and Applications
Based on hardness, cast steel grit is divided into three grades, suitable for different applications:
GP Type Steel Grit (42-50 HRC)
Characteristics: Newly manufactured with sharp edges, gradually becoming rounded during use.
Suitable for: Pre-treatment of steel plates and steel surfaces to remove oxide scale.
Typical applications: Steel pre-treatment production lines, steel structure cleaning.
GL Type Steel Grit (56-60 HRC)
Characteristics: High hardness, loses sharp edges during sandblasting.
Suitable for: Casting cleaning, forging cleaning, steel rust removal.
Typical applications: Foundries, forging plants, shipyards for rust removal.
GH Type Steel Grit (63-66 HRC)
Characteristics: Very high hardness, maintains sharp edges during sandblasting.
Suitable for: Creating regular, textured surface effects.
Typical applications: Cold rolling mill roll treatment, compressed air shot peening equipment.
Core Advantages
1.Fast and Efficient Cleaning:
Cast steel grit has sharp edges and high hardness, providing superior cutting power compared to steel shot. It quickly removes oxide scale, rust, and burrs from workpiece surfaces. GP-type steel grit is particularly suitable for steel surface pretreatment, significantly reducing processing time and production costs.
2. Long Service Life and Low Consumption:
Cast steel grit has few internal defects and its microstructure consists of tempered martensite and tempered troostite, resulting in strong impact resistance and a long service life. It has moderate hardness, high toughness, and impact resistance, allowing for repeated use. It also boasts good resilience, strong adhesion, fast cleaning speed, low grit consumption, no breakage, and high workpiece brightness, resulting in excellent technical effects.
3. Excellent Cleaning Effect:
Cast steel grit has uniform particle size and moderate hardness, resulting in high surface brightness and strong adhesion after cleaning. For complex-shaped workpieces, cast steel grit can evenly clean internal corners, achieving significant technical results.
4. Stress Relief and Strength Enhancement
Qingdao Bairuitong cast steel sand has a fine internal structure, is not easily broken, and has a uniform particle size distribution. It not only cleans the surface but also relieves workpiece stress and strengthens the surface, increasing its hardness.
