Product Introduction
Brown fused alumina sand is a brownish-red synthetic corundum abrasive produced by melting and reducing high-quality bauxite, anthracite, and iron filings in an electric arc furnace at temperatures above 2000℃. Due to its high hardness, good toughness, and excellent self-sharpening properties, it is one of the most widely used and cost-effective abrasive products globally.
We offer a long-term, stable supply of high-quality brown fused alumina sand. Our products strictly adhere to national and international standards, with particle sizes ranging from F4 to F320, as well as various grades of snd and fine powder. It is widely used in sandblasting, precision grinding, abrasive tool manufacturing, refractory materials, and wear-resistant flooring.
Bairuitong Brown Corundum Sand is made from high-grade bauxite, refined through the following core processes:
High-Temperature Smelting: Smelted at temperatures above 2250℃ in an electric arc furnace to ensure full reduction of the raw material.
Crushing and Shaping: Crushed and shaped using a self-grinding mill, resulting in mostly spherical particles with a clean, dry surface and good flowability.
Magnetic Separation for Iron Removal: Multiple magnetic separation processes remove magnetic impurities, improving purity.
Precision Sieving: Strictly sieved according to international standards, ensuring uniform particle size distribution and stable quality.

Core Product Advantages
1.High Hardness and Outstanding Grinding Efficiency:
Brown fused alumina boasts a Mohs hardness of 9.0 and a microhardness of HV1800-2200, exhibiting toughness superior to silicon carbide. During sandblasting and grinding operations, it provides strong cutting force and rapid decontamination, significantly improving work efficiency.
2. Strong Self-Sharpening and Continuously Sharp:
Brown fused alumina possesses a unique shell-like fracture surface, continuously generating new sharp edges during grinding, maintaining sustained cutting capability. This characteristic makes it particularly suitable for long-term continuous operation scenarios, resulting in low overall operating costs.
3. High Purity and Controllable Impurities:
Depending on the particle size grade, the Al₂O₃ content can reach 92.5%-95% or higher, while the magnetic material content is controlled below 0.3%. High purity ensures stable grinding results and prevents workpiece surface contamination.
4. High Temperature Resistance and Wide Range of Applications
With a melting point as high as 2250℃ and a maximum operating temperature of 1900℃, it has a low coefficient of thermal expansion (7-9×10⁻⁶/0-1600℃). It maintains stable performance under high-temperature conditions, making it suitable for high-temperature applications such as refractory materials.
5. Environmentally Friendly and Safe
Brown fused alumina contains no free silica, eliminating the risk of silicosis and making it an ideal environmentally friendly sandblasting material.
